It was passed in the US House of Reps as HR 2751, then with that same number, it was hidden as a rider inside another bill, and the US Senate voted unanimously for it, meaning every member of the US Senate voted for it. On January 4, 2011, it was signed into "law" by the White House. The current issue is for those same millions of people who got ignored to convince the US House of Reps NOT to fund it, and it will then die without any funding. Contact your local Reps, even if they do ignore the millions of people who contact them--what they do does not dictate what we do. They report there is to be a vote either today (Wed.) or tomorrow (Th.) to either send it as a rider inside the "must pass" Continuing Resolution for 2011 on HR3082 (or HR3081, as per Sen. Hatch's website), or vote on it as a cloture vote to go to the floor for a final vote by the Senate to pass to the President to sign into law. Please call your Senators and beg them to vote No on both ideas. Among many other negative consequences, the SB510 language will undo DSHEA 1994. Hatch's website says the Continuing Funding for 2011 is HR 3081 -- whichever it is, the food "safety" bill is back in the US Senate. Please contact Sen. Hatch and Sen. Bennett to vote NO!
