Connecticut SB 131 reverses statewide fluoride mandate - VIDEO of NZ politician explaining anti-fluoride vote (which FAN says should be passed on to others since it's a politician speaking)

June 26, 2013

Late last week, FAN sent out a bulletin announcing an upcoming public hearing in Hartford, Connecticut for Senate bill 131, a bill reversing the existing statewide fluoridation mandate. We were alerted by the bill sponsor, Senator Joe Markley’s office that the event was actually not the official public hearing on the bill, but instead an informational meeting on fluoridation for legislators and committee members. The public will not be given an opportunity to speak at the meeting, however Dr. Paul Connett will be there to give a 30+ minute Power Point presentation.
If you submitted testimony to the committee, thank you. The Public Health committee will eventually be working on the bill, and your emails and letters have already gotten their attention, according to Sen. Markley’s staff.

Paul Connett will be Speaking in Windsor, Connecticut

Must See TV Interview with Hamilton (NZ) Councilor
In our last bulletin we told you about the huge 7-1 victory in Hamilton, New Zealand (pop. 150,000) earlier this month. Prior to the City Council voting, they organized a tribunal to take a comprehensive look at the entire fluoridation issue and to hear from experts on both sides, making their eventual vote against fluoridation even more significant. Now there is a must see Video Interview with Hamilton Councillor Dave McPherson, who discusses how the tribunal was organized, why the council voted to end fluoridation, and how poorly the media has covered the issue. This is a very good video to send to your local councilors as it comes from a public official’s perspective, and one who was not strongly pro or anti-fluoride when the debate started.
