WooHoo!! Local Chapter of Sierra Club, plus 2 other environmental organizations, Food and Water Watch and Columbia River Keeper, have all publicly taken a stand against fluoridation in Portland Oregon's drinking water! Please be sure to read all the comments below the article that offer further support and scientific evidence against fluoride...and notice, also, that the article points out that the local chapter of Sierra Club did their OWN research for "several weeks," which means there really IS scientific evidence against fluoride, or they would not have opposed it -- too bad the environmental organizations don't just come out against it nationwide as a matter of it being an "environmental issue" for all humans when there's no safe, quality drinking water any time the toxins added/dumped don't meet the safety regulations already in place for safe drinking water!!

Environmental groups say no to fluoride in Portland water

How Stress Affects Your Heart and Gut Health

March 28, 2013

Too Much Stress

Story at-a-glance

  • Men and women tend to experience stress differently. Stomach-churning anxiety is far more common in women than men, as is feelings of sadness in response to stress, and not being able to stop thinking about that which worries them
  • When you dwell on negative emotions you internalize the stress, which can prevent you from coming up with constructive ways to address them. Stress can improve once you find more active methods of coping
  • Stress plays a major role in your immune system, and can impact your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, brain chemistry, blood sugar levels, and hormonal balance. It can even “break” your heart, and is increasingly being viewed as a cardiovascular risk marker
  • By using energy psychology techniques such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), you can reprogram your body’s reactions to the unavoidable stressors of everyday life. Exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and meditation are also important “release valves” that can help you manage your stress

Are We Over-Diagnosing Mental Illness?

March 28, 2013

Mental Illness

Story at-a-glance

  • According to critics, the new edition of the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) diagnostic "bible" – the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM) -- will label healthy people with a mental condition and make them prime candidates for unnecessary prescriptions of mind-altering antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs
  • Virtually none of the mental disorders described in the DSM can be objectively measured by empirical tests; instead, they're completely subjective
  • By turning normal emotions and difficult life circumstances into “illnesses” the DSM-5 has resulted in the rampant over-medicalization and over-diagnosis of mental illnesses within the psychiatric profession

Watch the below 5 min. video to learn how to silent the negative voice inside that holds all of us back!

The entire world is suffering with this issue, believe it or not! To free your inner positive nature, you need to let go of the negativity that covers it up. How does negativity manifest?

Most people experience a negative inner voice saying things like:

You’re an idiot.
You can’t do that!
You could have…
You should have…
That’s not good enough.
Look at everyone else. They don’t have problems like you.
You are ugly.
You don’t deserve.
You’re missing out.
You’re a loser.
I could go on, but you know what I mean. If you aren’t aware of such a voice, but still feel negative feelings regularly, then listen more closely. It is there, whispering away. You have just taken it for granted so it hasn’t dawned upon your consciousness yet.

My own negative voice says things like:

Who cares? It doesn’t matter – nothing matters. I don’t matter!

When I give this voice power, it is a free ticket to irresponsibility, lack of discipline and feelings of low self-worth.

More disturbing studies about ALL chemicals in our drinking water, from an unexpected resource website - be sure to read all the way to bottom for all the citations of where the research came from - When you read about bladder cancer being rare, remember that the famous singer, Andy Williams, just passed away last year from bladder cancer

Ordinary Tap Water Contains Hundreds of Contaminants

A glass of water from your tap can contain any of 2,100 contaminants, including known and probable carcinogens, toxins that affect your endocrine and nervous systems, and chemicals that are known risks to babies in the womb.

Where does all the junk come from? How does it get into the water? How big are the risks it poses? And most important, what steps can you take to protect yourself and those you love? Let's take a look. . .

Tap water contamination can come from many sources — pesticides, fertilizer, factory farms and regular factories, metals and chemicals leaching from pipes and storage tanks. And more…

Water treatment plants in the path of Superstorm Sandy are still struggling to recover from the torrential rains that washed tens of millions of gallons of raw or partially treated sewage into the area's waterways.

The "disinfectant" that creates risky toxins
 And then there's the stuff they deliberately add to the water to "protect our health." You probably know that waterworks across the nation add chlorine as a disinfectant to fight disease-causing pathogens in dirty source water.

    But chlorine reacts with rotting organic sewage, manure, dead animals and fallen leaves to form potentially harmful chemicals.

This unintended side effect of chlorinating water creates chemicals called trihalomethanes (THM). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) nicknames them "disinfection byproducts". But let's call them what they really are — toxic trash.

Scientists believe that THMs in your drinking water may be responsible for thousands of bladder cancer cases every year — and they are also implicated in colon and rectal cancer, birth defects, low birth weight and miscarried babies. (NHDES2006).

The best known of the four-member THM family is chloroform. Years ago it was used as an anesthetic to render people unconscious during surgery. Now the U.S. government calls it a "probable" human carcinogen. California calls it a "known" carcinogen.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) recently reviewed the latest water quality tests from 201 large water utilities, serving 100 million Americans. Their investigation found that all 201 water utilities were polluted with THMs.
The mounting evidence against trihalomethanes
Growing evidence links THMs to cancer and other health problems including these:
  • Men exposed to more than 50 ppb had significantly increased risk of bladder cancer (Costet 2011).
  • People faced twice the risk of bladder cancer death if trihalomethanes were above 21 ppb. (2011 National Report on Carcinogens, a report of the National Toxicology Program). Of the water systems studied by EWG, 85 percent reported average THM contamination above 21 ppb.
  • The National Cancer Institute notes that 25% of people may have a genetic susceptibility toward increased bladder cancer risk from THMs (Cantor 2010).
  • In 2005, the EPA considered lowering the legal trihalomethane limit to 40 ppb — saying it could prevent 1,300 bladder cancer cases annually. But then it didn't take action.
  • Fourteen studies now link THM exposure to small birth weight infants, neural tube defects, and miscarriage. (The neural tube is the structure that develops into the brain and spinal cord.)
I don't want to worry you unnecessarily. Bladder cancer is not up there with breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer and other big killers. It's a relatively small risk. The American Cancer Society estimates there will be about 72,000 new cases diagnosed in 2013 and about 15,000 deaths from bladder cancer.

Having said that, I don't take the threat lightly myself. I don't drink chlorinated water. I also take the view that we're probably just seeing the tip of the iceberg. Most likely chlorine and its THM byproducts have other health effects that haven't been identified yet.
A few more thoughts about that iceberg. . .
A report by the Ralph Nader Study Group‚ confirmed after sifting through 10‚000 documents acquired through the Freedom Of Information Act that, "U.S. drinking water contains more than 2,100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer."

Some are created by the interaction of water treatment disinfectants and pollutants in source water. Most have never been studied in any depth and several are suspected carcinogens.
But the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act only addresses 79 contaminants1.

Municipal water treatment facilities do not remove SOCs (synthetic organic chemicals).

And for the most part, water treatment facilities are similar to what they were in the early 1900's. The norm was and is… filter out the visible particles, then add bleach! Euww!

As far as that goes, many of the water treatment plants (and most certainly the underground piping) was laid a hundred years ago or more in older communities. The way we guarantee safe drinking water is old, out-dated, broken and needs to be fixed.

Water authority Dr. David Ozonoff of the Boston University of Public Health warned, "The risk of disease associated with public drinking water has passed from the theoretical to the real."

Illnesses that in the past couldn't be linked to any probable cause have now been linked to toxins in drinking water. "While levels of these carcinogens (synthetic organic chemicals) in drinking water are low, it is precisely these low levels that carcinogen specialists believe to be responsible for the majority of human cancers in the U.S.," the U.S. Council on Environmental Quality states.

In 1994 during EWG's first ever tap water study, 27 out of 29 major cities had traces of at least two weed killers in the drinking water. However, in Fort Wayne, Indiana the group found a shocking nine different pesticides in a single glass of tap water!

As an alarming side note, they reported that in these 29 cities, 45,000 infants drank formula mixed with tap water containing weed killers and that "over half of these infants were swallowing 4 to 9 chemicals in every bottle."

And yet our water quality standards are set based on what is assumed safe for a 175-pound adult, drinking just one single chemical in their water…. Not two or more (let alone hundreds).

In 1995 the Science Advisory Report to the EPA stated that "…when two or more of these contaminants combine in our water, the potency may be increased by as much as 1000 times."

You should assume that there's NO acceptable SAFE level for pesticides, weed killers, chlorine, MTBE (a fuel additive), and so on, in your drinking water.
This controversial toxin is deliberately
added to your water
Chemist and microbiologist Albert Schatz, Ph.D., declared a certain chemical, "…the greatest fraud that has ever been perpetrated on more people than any other fraud has."

The Delaney Congressional Investigation Committee, which monitors additives, says, "Fluoridation is mass medication without parallel in the history of medicine."

Dr. Robert Carton, former EPA scientist, has said, "Fluoride is somewhat less toxic than arsenic and more toxic than lead, and you wouldn't want either of them in your mouth."

Fluoride has been named an equivocal carcinogen by the National Cancer Institute Toxicological Program.2 There's also substantial evidence that it's a potent neurotoxin.3

Fluoride is actually a by-product of the aluminum industry and is classified as a hazmat (hazardous material) for disposal purposes. That doesn't sound exactly benign to me.

Yet 70 percent of U.S. water systems force it on you… some of them at extremely high levels.

To learn more about fluoride, go to
And well water isn't problem-free either!
Roughly 15 percent of Americans get their drinking water from private wells, which are not subject to EPA standards (for whatever that's worth!).

Personally, I like having my own well and being able to exert some degree of control over my water. But having said that, please note that well water is not exempt from contamination. Watch out for these problems…
  • Microorganisms — bacteria, viruses, parasites, especially in shallow wells. Runoff after flooding can pose a special risk.
  • Radionuclides — radioactive elements such as uranium and radium, from underlying rocks and ground water.
  • Radon — is linked to lung cancer and can be inhaled when you run your water. Especially prevalent in New Jersey, New England, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Arizona — though not limited to these areas.
  • Nitrates and nitrites — migrate quickly through soil and into waterways. Especially acute near heavy agricultural areas. Can lead to a serious bleeding condition.
  • Heavy Metals — Cadmium, chromium, lead, selenium, arsenic, etc. linked to underground rocks and soils. Chromium and selenium are beneficial in very tiny amounts but toxic in large doses. I recently found out my selenium levels were high enough to be dangerous. Not sure why, but I suspect it's my well water.
How groundwater contamination affects you
(Whether you live in the city or the country)
The legacy of pollution and lax regulatory enforcement is perhaps unrivaled in our nation's factory farms, known by the Orwellian acronym CAFO (Confined Animal Feeding Operations).

Farm runoff affects both city and well water, produces a lot of contaminants, and is a growing problem.

California's Central Valley is now home to 1.6 million dairy cows that together produce almost five times more waste than the entire human population of Los Angeles.4 And that doesn't even count calves or replacement stock, just adult cows.

Other states with large numbers of CAFOs include Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Kansas…

Dairies produce four major contaminants: nitrates, bacteria (E. coli, etc.), antibiotics, and hormones. And unlike cities, dairies don't use treatment systems to remove them from wastewater.

Worse, manure can (and does) spill from holding structures into nearby waterways when heavy rains lead to flooding. The spillage problem is compounded by poor construction or design.5
How dangerous are these pollutants?
  • Nitrates. Manure converts to ammonia and then to nitrate. Exposure can lead to methemoglobinemia — a blood condition that hinders oxygen transport, and can be fatal in infants, where it is called "blue baby syndrome". Long-term nitrate exposure is also linked to cancer, miscarriage, premature birth, impaired fetal growth, and more.
  • Pathogens. Six of the 150 human pathogens in animal manure are responsible for 90 percent of all human food-and-water-borne diseases: Campylobacter, Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli, Cryptosporidium and Giardia.7 At least in theory, municipal water systems eliminate these pathogens before they reach you. Not so with private wells.
    Bacteria linked to CAFOs can be resistant to antibiotics, increasing risk to those who rely on well water.
  • Hormones are routinely injected into livestock to increase productivity. In 2007, over 40 percent of CAFO cows were injected with rBST (also called rBGH), a growth hormone. These physiologically active steroidal hormones find their way into your water.8
  • Exposure has been linked to an increase in hormone-related cancers and chronic illnesses, disruptions in fetal and child development, and feminization of male fish.
  • Antibiotics are used extensively through a cow's entire life, not to treat or prevent disease but mainly to promote growth and milk output. These drugs can persist more than one year in the environment, imposing a major health threat9
    When bacteria are repeatedly exposed to antibiotics, the drug-resistant bacteria survive while the rest die. Then the resistant ones breed and spread. Many doctors consider antibiotic-resistant germs to be one of today's biggest health challenges.
What to do about this invisible problem
 In the next issue you'll learn the best ways to deal with the problem of contaminated water. I'm not going to opine about what the politicians should do on a national or global level. For one thing, we may be dead before they take action. No, the focus is going to be on what you can do to avoid dirty, dangerous water at a personal and family level.

We're often asked what are the best options for purifying or filtering a home's water supply. In the next issue, we'll answer that question as well as we can.

Organic Tomato

Story at-a-glance

  • Tomatoes are one of the best dietary sources of lycopene, which has been shown to have anti-cancerous activity, and may reduce your risk of stroke.
  • Cooked tomatoes (such as in tomato sauce or tomato paste) not only increases the lycopene content that can be absorbed by your body, but also increases the total antioxidant activity. Consume your tomatoes, whether raw or cooked, with some type of fat, such as olive oil, since lycopene is a fat-soluble nutrient.
  • Choose organic varieties, whether whole tomatoes or tomato paste, ketchup, or sauce. Organic ketchup has been found to contain 57 percent more lycopene than conventional national brands.
  • Avoid anything that comes in a can, since the acidity of the tomatoes will increase toxic BPA release from the liner.

It's one thing for a newspaper to mislead or have biased opinions that they post, but it's quite another to put words in somebody's mouth that they never said, and then publish it nationwide as though they did - we already knew last November's election that pro-fluoride groups were misquoting the Harvard research, giving a spin to it that Harvard was either just quoting the study done in China (which Harvard corrected), or they didn't use enough fluoride or used too much fluoride, and couldn't be comparable (which Harvard corrected), but now to give the appearance that the Harvard scientists told Wichita not to use their study to decide on fluoridating the Wichita water, and then using the media to publish that false statement countrywide??!!! That's libel -- and if they verbalized it, it's also slander. Harvard needs to stop these "media myths" because the media knows if you say a lie often enough, it becomes truth in people's minds - it's called "The Big Lie Technique" that Hitler's PR men used to discredit political opponents and confuse the public's minds

How the "Wichita Eagle" (Kansas) Misled the Public
"...As many of you know, the fluoride-lobby directed a great deal of their time and money this past summer and fall on an attempt to force fluoridation on the residents of Wichita, Kansas. Thankfully, local campaigners were successful in educating citizens who eventually voted against fluoridating the water supply by a 60%-40% vote. During the entire debate, the local newspaper--the Wichita Eagle—heavily promoted fluoridation in its editorial pages, and published many news stories that appeared to share a pro-fluoride slant.
"One such news article entitled “Harvard Scientists: Data on fluoride, IQ not applicable in U.S.”, was a glaring example of how the paper’s pro-fluoride bias infiltrated their news stories. The article was the Eagle’s coverage of the recent peer reviewed research paper published by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health linking fluoride exposure to lower IQ in children. The Wichita paper’s opening paragraph on the Harvard IQ study declared:

“Harvard university scientists say Wichita voters shouldn’t depend on a research study they compiled to decide whether to put fluoride in the city’s drinking water to fight tooth decay.”

"This, however, was false. Dr. Philippe Grandjean, the senior scientist on the Harvard team, has criticized the Wichita paper for deceptively attributing its own conclusions on fluoridation to the Harvard scientists. Fluoridation’s potential to produce “chemical brain drain,” Grandjean writes, is an issue that “definitely deserves concern.”
"Now the pro-fluoride lobby is citing this inaccurate article across the country whenever the Harvard study is brought up in an effort to convince decision-makers and the public to disregard fluoride’s link to reduced IQ..."

CNN Video Interview with Dr. Weil

It’s Time to Change American Disease-Management into a Health-Fostering System

March 18, 2013

Story at-a-glance

  • The US does not have a health care system; we have a disease-management system that is dependent on expensive drugs and invasive surgeries. It’s a system rooted in an ideal of maximized profits, opposed to helping people maintain or regain their health
  • The US spends more on health care than the next 10 biggest spenders combined: Japan, Germany, France, China, the U.K., Italy, Canada, Brazil, Spain and Australia, yet the US ranks last in health and mortality analysis of 17 developed nations
  • Integrative medicine (IM) is a better alternative to the current system, as it offers a combination of conventional medical therapies and complementary or alternative therapies "for which there is some high-quality scientific evidence of safety and effectiveness"
  • The Affordable Health Care Act is likely to make matters far worse rather than better, as the Act does not include any strategies to prevent illness. Nor does it contain any measures to rein in or reduce out-of-control health care costs related to overcharges. Instead it expands an already flawed model of “care” that has been and continues to be one of the leading causes of both death and bankruptcy in the US

5 Ways you Trick yourself into Prolonging Emotional Pain

emotionalpainMany people are surprised to learn that their favorite coping mechanism for handling emotional pain actually causes more problems than it solves.
Let’s look at four solid steps to effectively dealing with emotional pain and five reactions that trick you into prolonging it.
Imagine that someone hurts your feelings. To deal with it effectively you might 1) notice the emotional pain without denying it. Then 2) express your feelings maturely, 3) clear up any misunderstandings, and 4) set new expectations and a plan to move ahead. Then, you can let the emotional pain go, feeling like you have dealt with the situation. [Sidebar Note: Applying true love and forgiveness needs to be added as the last step here]

Most people don’t take these steps out of their emotional pain. Why?

Why on earth would you hang on to emotional pain? The gist of it is that it maintains the status quo. At some point in life, probably before you can remember, you grew accustomed to a certain brand of emotional pain, and your mind simply assimilated it as part of the deal.
You developed a tolerance for it and perhaps even developed an identity around suffering emotional pain. Now, if you have not consciously come to terms with it, you trick yourself in to maintaining the status quo.  In fact, some people cannot fathom life outside the box of emotional pain they live in.

To see how this plays out, let’s look at a hypothetical example. Imagine that someone you know rudely interrupts you in the middle of a sentence and it hurts your feelings.

Here are five ways you trick yourself into hanging onto emotional pain.

So there you are. You’ve just been rudely interrupted. How can you virtually guarantee that you will revel in it for some time to come?
1. Outright denial. A sure way to keep your emotional pain festering is to deny its existence. Just pretend you didn’t notice the interruption. If someone asks if it bothered you later, you say,  “Oh, no. I don’t let that kind of thing get to me. Life is too short to make a fuss!” Make nice and completely bury your feelings. Hopefully you will forget all about it.

But you won’t. It will eat at you. It will fester. It will turn into resentment that will pop out unexpectedly and create more pain. You have tricked yourself into carrying this one and adding it to the pile of other stressors you have denied.
mouthshut2. Refusing to express. Ok, you have acknowledged to yourself that the rude interruption hurt your feelings, but you won’t speak up. You tell yourself that you shouldn’t have to say anything or that he wouldn’t care anyway.
You try to continue the conversation, but are distracted by what a rude jerk you are dealing with. If he asks what is wrong, you say something like, “Nothing, sorry I’m just a bit tired. Don’t mind me.”
You are still stuck in stress and now it is building.
Regardless, expressing the emotional pain at/to the source is a key factor in letting it go. If you find a reason to withhold yourself, you are also finding a reason to hang onto the hurt.
3. The freak out. In this case, you do the opposite of withholding and just let it rip. You fly off the handle or exaggerate the situation. You say, “How dare you! Who do you think you are to sit there and ignore every word I say and then cut me off like I don’t matter? Where were you raised? In a barn?"
This encourages your adversary to defend himself, accuse you of being insane, and pretend he is no longer obligated to listen to such a lunatic. Does this alleviate your stress or just invite more?
4. Making excuses. “He’s under a lot of pressure and he’s nervous, so who am I to add to it by making more demands? Give the guy a break, nobody’s perfect.”
Letting him off the hook by making excuses for him may help avoid a conflict, but won’t ease your stress. How will you stand up for yourself if you keep finding reasons that others are justified in hurting your feelings?
cotton_candy5. Sugar-coating. Mary Poppins sang, “A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down,” but I don’t think emotional pain was the medicine she had in mind.
Just the same, sugar coating emotional pain makes it more tolerable. Believe it or not, human beings (including you) are masters at it. How could you sugar-coat a rude interruption?

Oh, it’s not that big of a deal. It happens all the time. Lighten up.
I have to keep a positive attitude here! Nothing has power to bother me!
Patience is a virtue and this is a good opportunity to practice.

You’ve just made your stress tolerable, instead of dealing with it, like candy-coating small doses of cyanide – it’s easier to swallow.
If you catch yourself doing any of the above, ask yourself if it will really help to resolve your emotional pain, or to hang onto it. When you come to see that your efforts to cope only prolong the stress, you may opt for a different path.
If you need help to apply the principles in this article, consider personal coaching with Mike Bundrant. To inquire, fill out the form below and someone will be in touch soon.

50 Signs That The U.S. Health Care System Is A Gigantic Money Making Scam That Is About To Collapse

February 28, 2013

[Towards the end, after the 50 signs are given, you find the below counsel from a doctor...]

But just don’t take my word for it.  The following is some very sound advice from Dr. Robert S. Dotson
Avoid contact with the existing health care system as far as possible. Yes, emergencies arise that require the help of physicians, but by and large one can learn to care for one’s own minor issues. Though it is flawed, the internet has been an information leveler for the masses and permits each person to be his or her own physician to a large degree. Take advantage of it!
Educate yourself about your own body and learn to fuel and maintain it as you would an expensive auto or a pet poodle. One does not need a medical degree to:
1. avoid excessive use of tobacco or alcohol or, for that matter, caffeine;
2. avoid poisons like fluoride, aspartame, high fructose corn syrup, and addictive drugs (legal or illicit);3. avoid unnecessary and potentially lethal imaging studies (TSA’s radiation pornbooths, excessive mammography, repetitive CT scans – exposure to all significantly increases cancer risk);
4. avoid excessive cell phone use and exposure to other forms of EMR pollution where possible (the NSA is recording everything you say and text anyway);
5. avoid daily fast food use and abuse (remember: pink slime and silicone) ;
6. avoid untested GM foods (do you really want to become “Roundup Ready?”):
7. avoid most vaccinations and pharmaceutical agents promoted by the establishment;
8. avoid risky behaviors (and, we do not need a bunch of Nanny State bureaucrats to define and police these);
9. exercise moderately;
10. get plenty of sleep;
11. drink plenty of good quality water (buy a decent water filter to remove fluoride, chloride, and heavy metals);
12. wear protective gear at work and play where appropriate (helmets, eye-shields, knee and elbow pads, etc.):
13. seek out locally-grown, whole, organic foods and support your local food producers;
14. take appropriate nutritional supplements (multi-vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3);
15. switch off the TV and the mainstream media it represents;
16. educate yourself while you can;
And, lastly…
Doing these simple, common-sense things will add healthy years to a person’s life and help one avoid most medical encounters during his or her allotted time on earth.

EPA scientists, medical experts fired for opposing water fluoridation

Politics, not science, is what continues to drive the water fluoridation agenda today, and it was always the impetus behind the original passage of corrupt water fluoridation guidelines established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) more than 50 years ago. But many EPA scientists, it turns out, as well as other medical and scientific experts, have bravely come out in opposition to water fluoridation over the years, a move that for many cost them their jobs and careers...

Epa Muddies Water Over Fluoride Limit

The Environmental Protection Agency has stirred the hornet`s nest of fluoridation by seeking to double the maximum allowable amount of the mineral in the nation`s water supply--a move that is drawing sharp criticism as a possible health hazard.

``I don`t think the law really allows them to do this,`` says Jackie Warren, a lawyer with the New York-based Natural Resources Defense Council, which plans to sue the EPA to stop the change. ``They`re changing the standard for reasons that have nothing to do with science.``

What effect does water fluoridation have on a normal thyroid gland or euthyroid?

March 8, 2013 - PubMed states:

"Fluoride was used as a drug to treat hyperthyroidism because it reduces thyroid activity quite effectively. This is due to the ability of fluoride to mimic the action of thyrotropin (TSH). Excess fluoride correlates with the other thyroid-related issues such as iodine deficiency. Fluorine and iodine, both being members of the halogen group of atoms, have an antagonistic relationship. When there is excess of fluoride in the body it can interfere with the function of the thyroid gland. Thus, fluoride has been linked to thyroid problems."

The prior therapeutic use of Fluoride to reduce thyroid hormone levels in cases of thyrotoxicosis is well documented (Goldemberg, (1926, 1930, 1932); May (1935, 1937); Orlowski (1932) and Galletti and G. Joyet, (1958).

Fluoridation--Is this why the U.S. leads in osteoporosis ?
February 23, 2013

...Because I knew a biologist in the 1960s who wrote his doctoral dissertation on fluoridation, I have been aware of some of the issues with fluoride for 45 years...The late Dr. John Lee, MD, who gained fame by writing about bioidentical hormones, also wrote about fluoride. His articles about fluoridation and osteoporosis can be found here: I suggest you paste them into WORD and double space them to make them easier to read...Fluoridation may be one reason why we are seeing so many younger people with osteoporosis.
